 Meet the trainer:  

   Hello! My name is Sybille Wells,  or Billie, as my American friends liked to call me.

    At the Police Academy in Munich, Germany where I learned the traditional way of dog training,  negative correction was unfortunately the main method of communication between dog and handler.  I quickly discovered that I didn't like this style of training.

   Once I'd moved to the United States I explored more gentle and positive ways to teach dogs and their owners. It's been my experience that this method works a lot better.  Scroll down to learn more about this method.

    I've worked with people and their pet dogs for 15 years.  In addition, I trained dogs on movie sets and magazines shoots using the marker and clicker method.  I am also a mentor trainer for ABTA (American Behavior and Training Association) which helps dog trainers start their careers.

    My true passion, however, has always been working with family dogs.

    My sensitivity to your dog’s personality and temperament, along with positive motivational training methods that I use, will help you and your dog share a happy and obedient life together!

    Currently, I share my home with three adopted dogs: my beautiful chow mix Maurice, "the gangster of love," and my two agility stars, Zip and Jimmy.

    Sybille Wells and her dogs have now returned to Sybille's original homeland of Munich, Germany. 

She now provides private, mobile dog training services to the lucky people of Munich,
and hopefully she and the "gang" will be back to playing their favorite game of agility very soon.

We as owners should be the guide that every dog needs to journey through life. 

At “Sit and Stay” we believe that positive reinforcement is the fairest approach to dog training.   

With praise, play and treats we can help our dogs understand “our” world, and teach them what they need to know with patience and gentle methods. 

The primary goal at "Sit and Stay Dog Training" is, to give you, your dog's real trainer, the tools to build communication, mutual respect, and trust between you and your dog.  We will show you how to understand your dog, how to teach your dog to understand you, and how to fit training into your busy schedule. 

   Methods:

Working with “Marker” words or a “Clicker” is the most gentle way to train your dog. Once a dog has an understanding of the principle of markers, the fun of training can begin!

What is Marker training?

We use markers like the word “YES” or a CLICKER sound to let the dog know when they are nearing the correct behavior.  This coupled with a “payment” for the dog, encourages him to continue working toward the desired response. This method is effective in teaching a variety of different behaviors.  

There are no harsh corrections given to the dog.  The only “correction” would be to withdraw the treats and your attention when the dog gives a truly unsatisfactory response.  

Your dog will quickly learn the benefits of doing what you ask.
